Idle was a a good run, for those of you who have done the Apperly Bridge Canter, it was a back to front version of that really. The first few miles are on the tow path and then it gets a bit more interesting as you get into the fields and woods. I ran with Janet Glynn most of the way, she clearly fancied a slower run!

Once off the tow path we were off into the fields, Liz Green was right, the views were very pleasant, a nice change for a local 10k. We had to climb over quite a few styles which was something I'd not really done before, but found quite fun.

Poor Jan got stung by a wasp which didn't make the rest of the race very comfortable for her. We also came by a large Rottweiler wandering about on it's own, which made us stop in our tracks, fortunately the owner came by a few seconds later telling us he was a big softy.
Not the first thing I thought when I saw it!

The weather was a little damp and the rain kicked in good and proper towards the end but it was't too much of a problem. The route was undulating but kept your interest. I find it generally a pleasant area to run in. I would recommend it to those of you who enjoy off road races.

We had a good few HPH runners, Chris & Liz Jones, Liz Green, Ken Fox, Janet Glynn & Alan Deighan. Thanks to Paul Sanderson for supporting. There was also an interesting cooler bag in the bag of goodies, which made a nice change.

Thanks Harp
