This race was the ninth and final race of the Yorkshire Veterans’ Athletics Association (YVAA) 2010 Grand Prix.

This was a proper cross country run of just over five miles. It started on the athletics track at Cleckheaton and the first mile was urban before heading across fields. It was pretty flat, but muddy and had some narrow tracks and stiles.
There were 218 runners in all and the course was straightforward for those of us in the middle of the field, but the leader did get lost and didn’t finish.
