While several HPH were on tour at Nottingham a few of us showed our moral support by running Sandal Castle 10k. Joe, Kate, Ben and I all ran as a warm up for next weeks GNR and Sue came along feeling in need of a race run too. One of my first ever off road races this remains a favourite in my race calendar, the uphill pull is rewarded with great views when you run round Sandal Castle. The introduction of a 5K meant that some of the faster runners crossed the finish line at the same time as those doing the 5K.
After the 10k Joe also took part in the fun run with young his friend Alfie, both did really well - 18.16! Joe pleased that he got a medal and Alfie was thrilled because he only started training yesterday morning!
Even Dave McGuire who was more than a few miles away running at Nottingham got a mention over the loudspeaker as the race commentator called out "well done Hyde Park Harriers - Dave McGuire will be proud of you all!
