Sarah Willis reports:
I don't feel qualified to submit a race report for the Leeds 10k as I was traitorously running in a corporate Tshirt. I got a place through my firm, which included lining up on the VIP start with Paula Radcliffe! Even though she was heavily pregnant and kept stopping to talk to people, she still came in much faster than my 50:12. On the plus side, I was the first runner home for my firm. Though I suspect this was because all the blokes were running behind Nell McAndrew...
Sarah :-)
Fab! Brilliant report Sarah and well done on your excellent time.
Ken Fox reports:
I done it! It was a fun run, so not a serious run. It was all about raising money for good causes rather than getting a good time. It was my third JT Leeds run and my best time (48:28) despite being stuck behind a wadge of joggers at the start, but at least this year I didn't get overtaken by a nun or a banana! I'm still a bit short of my fundraising target for the Alzheimer's Research Trust, but I'll twist a few arms when I get back from my hols in a couple of days time!
John Willis reports:
I also ran the JT 10 k last week, finishing in a less than impressive 1:03:53 I was hoping for under 55 minutes but I didn't help myself when I woke up around the same time I should have arrived at millenium square! I arrived in Leeds as the race set off and think I must have been last over the line! Brilliant atmosphere but I found myself literally queuing at some points in the race. Enjoyed my first run as a HPH very much, just hope next time I will do run club justice!! :)
Well done Ken and John (don't worry about your time - it is a notoriously slow race so I am sure your next one will be fab!) and welcome both of you to Hyde Park Harriers!
