Race report by Kay Fawcett:
"The VARR VLM 2010 Bloggers, Chris, Michael and I all arrived at Lancaster with our various support troops to run The Trimpell 20 Race. The morning started off rather cold but brightened up and once we were running was quite warm.
The Race started with a Lap of the sports centre track before a loop of the cycle track, which was a bit bizarre (looked a bit like an old Benny Hill sketch where people used to just chase one another in Zig Zags!) and then we joined a cycle/ footpath. The route was then a big loop which meant that twice the leaders ran past you as they turned! We followed this path for most of the route crossing the river twice (via a bridge – no swimming required) It was mostly flat, possibly for runners from Leeds a little too flat! 90% traffic free though there were a lot of dog walkers on the path and i nearly caused a few cyclists to fall off their bikes. At the back of the pack it felt at points more like a training run with water stations as at times i couldn’t see another runner. The race cruelly ended with another lap of the cycle course and two laps of the track! A lovely day, pretty route, great times, perfect pre London Marathon race!
Thank you to support from fellow runners, David and the girls from Eccleshill and my friend Julie and Liz who cheered us all on and Liz for capturing the day with fantastic photos! "

Well done you three. These times look very promising for VLM.
