A deceptively windy morning although we did get finished before the heavens opened. Great running by all this morning. Dave continued his fab times following his Thursday evening long runs with Tom. Good to see Paul Hedley becoming a regular on Saturday mornings. We all watched in awe as the winner of the race continued to speed it round the course long after the rest of us had finished. Thanks to Tom, Helen and Gill for marshalling. Next week will probably be a quiet one due to our first championship race (Wakefield 10K) on Sunday.

The first day of spring today and the perfect running morning. Loads of people at Hyde Park too with 152 runners. A good few VARR members there and some great times as well. Well done to Dave on his new pb - will you be doing 18 milers on the Thursday before every parkrun from now on then?! Well done to Paul Hedley for his new pb as well. Paul Sanderson will probably be blaming me for him not getting a new pb, but I'm sure 3 days is enough to recover... Get well soon Paul and Liz. Well done also to Becky, Surinder and Amar on their runs. Have to also say well done to Kara on her 273 second improvement and finishing in 27:53 - the 1km runs on Thursday have really spurred her on so thank you Tom and your students. Big thanks to Gill and Liz for marshalling.

The conditions this morning were just perfect for running and the number of PBs achieved this morning reflect this. Michael now knows what it is like to have Rick doing his wonderful coaching and helping him to a new pb. Wondering if he has recovered now.... Jaz had Kara doing a great job as coach today. Singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and telling her she was in the Olympics with Usain Bolt and Paula Radcliffe behind her obviously worked because Jaz knocked another 34 seconds off this week and is now well under 33 minutes. Surinder came back from her bout of flu to also get a new pb. Great to see Mabeth back on form for her birthday. Well done to everyone else who took part and achieved great times this morning. Thank you to Tom, Helen and Janice for marshalling.

This morning was colder than it first seemed with a biting wind on Woodhouse Moor. A big well done to Dave who not only won for the 3rd time, but got a new pb as well. His London training is paying dividends at all distances and we can't wait to see how speedy he is come 26th April. Rick wasn't well and actually did well to finish the race today. Jaz put up with me 'coaching' her round this morning and got a 50 second pb as a reward for her hard work. Janet and Michael were so close to a new pb today so fingers crossed for them for next week. Well done to everyone else as well. It is great that so many people get up early on a Saturday and it shows how dedicated our members are to their running.

Depleted numbers and times again due to Dewsbury 10k tomorrow. Rick complained about doing a pw today, but it doesn't matter because he is going to run like the wind tomorrow! Nice to see Amar getting up to run today. Don't know how Jaz managed to run this morning after her 3am bedtime!! Lovely atmosphere as per usual and loads of our running friends got pbs this morning too. Thanks to Tom and Helen for marshalling.

Two pbs today. Rick followed on from his brilliant Brass Monkey time and knocked another 8 seconds off his previous pb. Jaz also knocked an amazing 40 seconds off her pb. There were a couple of near pbs as well from Dave (equal pb) and Surinder (missed out by 3 seconds). Well done to everyone who ran today and thank you to Tom, Helen and Kara for marshalling.

Chilly morning again. -4 at 9am. Still quite a few of us turned out though. Well done to Janet for completing her first run for VARR. Congratulations to Dave for coming in 3rd. I must say a huge thanks to Rick for being my pacesetter and coach this morning and helping me to a new pb. I couldn't have done it without him! Nice to see Rob and Mabeth there this morning too - well done on your runs.

First one of the year! A big congratulations to Rick who knocked another 8 seconds off his time to get a new pb this week (no photos to pose for you see...!). A good run for Jaz especially considering she was running with her bag! My legs didn't drop off, I stopped to help a boy I used to teach who was limping. He had hurt his knee so I walked with him back to the finish.
