Thank you for entering the Hyde Park Harriers Summer Mile.
Race HQ is upstairs at the Packhorse pub, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds, LS2 9DX. HQ is open from 6.00 pm for you to collect your race number and wave number. There are toilets and a bar serving drinks (no food after 7.00 pm), but no showers or changing facilities. It is a two-minute jog to the start. There is no parking at the Packhorse or on Woodhouse Lane, but there is street parking on Clarendon Rd and surrounding side streets. The race takes place in Hyde Park (aka Woodhouse Moor) and is accurately measured. It is run entirely on tarmac paths with some cornering and a slight hill. The start and finish are near the Queen Victoria statue at the corner of Woodhouse Lane and Clarendon Rd.
You will be allocated to waves of no more than 15 runners of similar speeds. Wave One will set off at 7.00 pm, with subsequent waves at regular intervals. The final wave is expected to set off at around 8.00 pm. You will be asked to step up to the start as soon as the preceding wave has set off. Warm-up kit and other belongings will be collected from the start pen and transferred to the finish area to keep each wave separate.
Times will be announced in Race HQ as soon as possible after the event, when prizes will be presented. There are prizes for the fastest three men and women, and spot prizes in each wave. Main prizes will be sent by post if not claimed on the night, but spot prizes must be claimed in person (or by proxy).
