After debating about doing Bradford Half Marathon for several months I finally decided to enter on the the last day for on line entries! Only for someone to immediately say something about hills - Why didn't I realise this sooner, Bradford is nothing if not hilly! The race started near the Alhambra and then slowly went up and up and up. When we reached a cluster of cottages that were called South View, East View (I'm guessing the others were North and West) I knew we must have arrived at the top of the world and was looking forward to the down hill, but this seemed to be continually interspersed with more up hills until the final down hill to the finish at Lister Park! However our hard work was awarded with some stunning views on a perfect clear sunny autumn running day!
The event also include a 5K around the lovely Lister Park. Those of us running the half missed our very own Ellie Dooley finishing second to take first place for the ladies!
A good event still I believe in its early years just needs a little work on some of the organisation - a long wait to collect your numbers at the start and after I finished it felt very confusing. Could do with a little bit more sponsorship to add things to the goody bags to!
