The annual awards were presented at our dinner in the evening following the Abbey Dash. Rick made an excellent speech and the following awards were presented:
Men's Club Champion: Dave McGuire
Ladies' Club Champion: Vikki King
Racer of the Year (men): Paul Sanderson
Race of the Year (women): Liz Green
Supporter of the Year: Jaz Bangerh (this went right to the wire and before the Dash, Jaz and Tom were tied before Tom advised Jaz not to run!)
Rick's Chairman Award went to Jaz Bangerh for the most improved; Jaz has gone from someone who ran regularly, but was quite happy to stick at 5k and the odd 10k to someone who was training hard for a 10 mile race. What a transformation and we wish Jaz all the best for the coming year when she will hopefully continue to make these wonderful improvements.
Tom's President's Award went to Rick Pullan who has been absolutely brilliant at revitalising the club and encouraging everyone - thank you Rick!
