37 DAVE MCGUIRE M40 HYDE PARK 0:22:56
179 runners, hosted by an extremely well organised Toddy Harriers. Race results & photos posted on the net that evening!
The Stoodley Pike Fell Race is a quick dash up and down Calderdale's most famous landmark (see photo for general idea). It's a category 'BS' race with 700ft of ascent over 3.5 miles. 179 runners showed up and completed the race on yet another beautiful sunlit evening.
A pretty immediate 700 foot climb up to the pike (I was around 20th) followed by 800m tip toeing through rocky paths across the tops to the Pike (25th) and a seriously steep down hiller (for the confident speedsters and steppers) (47th) ended with a flatish mile back home to the finish line and The Top Brink Inn for prize giving and a well earned pint! Quality.
Well done Dave. All these hills will be making your legs super strong!
