Five Hyde Park Harriers showed up for the mid week evening 10 miler up at Otley. An absolute belter of a road race, providing all types of steep ascent and descent plus flat sections to tackle. The weather actually calmed down and only presented dark ominous clouds across the Wharfe valley during the race. But it absolutely tipped it down with rain prior to the race.
The race HQ moved to the cricket pavilion with a new finish taking place around the perimeter of the cricket field. Unfortunately not everyone made the start line with many runners stuck queuing along the guinnel down onto the main road where the start began a fair way down the road.
However the marshalling was excellent with a pretty darn good finishers goody bag (including beer!) finishers prizes and food was on offer post race. Well done to the five who ran, especially Chris’ 2nd place in his age group.
