Paul Sanderson and Liz Green took the shorter option on Sunday and did the Knaresborough 10K+ Trail Race instead of Leeds half-marathon:
"The route was fairly flat with some undulations along the riverbank, country paths and through woods (and a caravan site!) but was fairly low in numbers (about 160) compared to the 500 or so who did the 2.5mile fun run earlier in the day.
We both had quite eventful runs, Paul fell over tree roots and had to stop to do some navigating, finishing the (he thinks just under 7 miles) in approx 54 mins. The little group of runners I was with reached a crossroads at about 5 miles to find no marshals, signs etc... we ended up eventually back at the school and entered the school field at the wrong end, but at that point we were too tired to care.
I don't know what my time was (or how far I ran!) as results aren't expected to be available for about a week."
Sounds like a nightmare. Hope you got that complaint in Liz!
