Guy Fawkes 10 mile 1.11.09

Several brave VARR members headed off for this race this morning. It was the wettest day possible I think and we were all absolutely soaked even before the race started! This race is well known for its hills including the Birstwith Brute, a 15% hill, that was noted as the number 1 worst hill in UK road racing by Runner's World. It is very tough with off road bits at the beginning and end, but beautiful countryside to run through and very friendly marshalls. The best bit though has to be the goody bag filled to bursting with chocolate and the long sleeved top.

Our runners produced some brilliant times today. Big well done especially to Dave McGuire who came in 20th and Helen Williams who was 6th lady.
