"A small but very friendly race with just under 800 finishers! As anyone that was out running this morning knows it was some what cold and wet and as we waited patiently with just a few minutes to the start runners discarded coats, t-shirts and bin-bags and then the heavens really opened! Although the rain kept up for most of the race it did ease off.
This is a lovely 10k circular route where you run over the motorway and somehow must run under it (but don’t remember that). But despite this you would not know you were running near it as the route mostly takes you along country lanes and through small villages and past quaint churches! There are one or two very little inclines just enough to give your legs a rest from the flat but other than that … well even I would call this route flat!
At about 7k I passed a marshal who said it was a fast course today and we were all on track for PBs. Now how she knew this I wasn’t sure I could only imagine she had been secretly covering the road with some kind of “go faster grease” but a quick check of my watch suggested she might be right!
Although there is no chip timing at this event it is brilliantly marshalled, all friendly and cheering you on pointing out the speed bumps and dips in the paths. I recommend this to anyone who likes road races and is after a PB.
Kay Fawcett : gun time 58.38 (my stopwatch 58.10)

Well done ladies! Hope you are dry now...
